    Neurodiversity

Welcome to the Neurodiversity group of SAA.

    We're glad you're here

Neurodiversity can refer to a wide range of differences in brain patterns, the effects of which can be experienced as strengths as well as challenges. This group is a safe space for us to share our challenges and the solutions that we have found for engaging with the twelve steps of SAA.

This is not group therapy. We do not give advice, especially on clinical or medical matters. We recommend that any such matters are discussed with appropriate professionals outside of this group.

We may have certain neurodiverse behaviours that are part of who we are and that other people may not like. We are here to be accepted as we are, and for that to happen we strive to be tolerant and accept other people as they are, with their neurodiverse behaviours.

    What is neurodiversity

The SAA Neurodiversity group uses the term ‘Neurodiversity’ to cover a range of conditions. Our group consists of (but is not restricted to) people who have:

    • Autism
    • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
    • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
    • Personality Disorders
    • Bipolar Disorder
    • Dyspraxia
    • Tourette Syndrome
    • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
    • Asperger’s
    • Dyslexia
    • Schizoaffective Disorder
    • Eating Disorders

    What do I do now?

A weekly neuodiversity meeting opens at 7pm GMT for fellowship and the meeting starts at 7.15pm until 8.30pm. There is time for fellowship afterwards.

Email us here and at [email protected] if you would like to come along.  We will get back to you as soon as we can.

    SAA literature

Check out our programme literature, which can be accessed for free online or ordered through the SAA website Shop. There are a number of neurodiverse pamphlets:

    Intimacy Avoidance

    Developing Our Own Healthy Sexuality

And our main text is Sex Addicts Anonymous - The Green Book

    SAA Events

We get together at our annual Recovery Day in London - and at local SAA Recovery Days - check the calendar for event dates.

    And finally...

Sex addicts of every gender, sexual orientation, race and belief system are welcome in SAA. There are no fees, forms or waiting lists. We practice strict anonymity and confidentiality and we don’t oppose other forms of therapy or treatment – we just offer our experience and you’re free to take it or leave it.  It's a simple programme and it is working for us.
