Find a telemeeting where you can get help if you are unable to attend a face-to-face meeting. Select any group name to see more details. See Recovery meetings for face-to-face meetings near you or the International website for more telemeetings. Every SAA group is autonomous and neither the SAA UK Intergroup nor the International Service Organization of SAA has any authority over them.
Meetings are the core of recovery in SAA. Most meetings are 60 to 90 minutes long. An experienced member will normally act as meeting secretary, keeping the meeting to a schedule which typically includes an optional opening prayer, prepared readings, a chance to introduce yourself by your first name only, and a chance to share your experience and hear about the experiences of others. More information is available by attending any of the meetings listed here.
Although every SAA group must follow the twelve steps and twelve traditions, every group is different. It can help to persevere with love and respect through personal differences, but there is no shame if we eventually realise that the way a particular group does things is not right for us. We can simply try other groups until we find one that supports our recovery with the right blend of challenge and compassion.
